Aspull 2nds progressed to the quarter final of the Plate with a comprehensive victory over PGH , despite having to reshuffle the team due to International call ups with several of their most influential players away in Dublin for Pat Wilsons stag do Geoff Gavin was also unavailable.

The large crowd were treated to some excellent Rugby with some breath taking tries and even more Cock Ups ,Aspull started the game quickly in fact so quickly they had scored before I had got my book out, PGH had turned up short but not as short as Jumpy who was drafted in on the last minute, the Emus provided players to even up the teams thanks to Joel , Ryan , Jimmy and Wiggi for agreeing to play for PGH this was joels 2nd time playing for PGH rumours he has been invited on xmas do are as yet unfounded,

John Gavin failed to reach touch with a penalty however he made amends soon after when he reached touch just outside the emu 22 unfortunately it was from a pass !!

The tries came thick and fast a bit like Fred

Chad Boyce , Liam Mac and Fred scored long range tries with Geoff Gavin on international duty the kicking duty was left to Nick who’s goal kicking Prowess is well documented it is said he can kick with both feet unfortunately he has 2 left feet and is right footed, he did manage to miss from in front of the post and then claimed the ball fell over , Even the PGH players shouted Get Baz on !!

PGH put aspull under pressure forcing Fred to knock on to be fair to fred he was fixing his hair at the time PGH kicked the ball on and Nick cleared the danger by kicking it backward 20m over his own line , I once saw another famous aspull full back do the same ?? and he achieved legendary status.

Aspull continued to run in tries Joe Roper scored from a John Gav interception.

Smudge found himself in the clear with only 70m to the line unfortunately there was only 10mins of the half remaining so he didn’t make it.

The emus who had donned the PGH were working hard for their new team mates Wiggi took the ball in strongly only for Matti Walker to rip it from him ‘Candy from a fat Curly haired Baby ‘ springs to mind.

In an open and entertaining game aspull created several chances but F**K** them up notably Nick scythed through the defence his scorching pace ruined Jimmy’s grass he found himself clear with the full back to beat and chad outside him he was undecided what to do Should I pass to chad so he can drop it or should I throw him a shit pass and make myself look a dick, he chose the latter and believe me Nick it worked.

PGH did manage to score the last try of the match to win under Emu law luckily for the EMUS baz didn’t see the try so it didn’t count and the Emus march on the quarter finals.

Joe was awarded the MOM award, and was given the honour

The large crowd were treated to some outstanding rugby the 2s are playing well and looking forward to a promotion push and a good cup run well done to all the Emus who played and supported the lads, this was a good victory despite missing the organisation and influence of capt Andy (get me a Guinness) Hair.

Please be aware not all the above is a true and actual account of what happened anyone wishing to question any of the above please write it on a £20 note and bring it to the next Emu court where your queries will be listened to and subsequently dismissed.
